It's always exciting when it's time to start packing for your vacation! Some of the most common questions I get about Disney Cruise Line center around what to pack, so I wanted to share some of my favorite must-pack items. I included active hyperlinks below if you want to do a little shopping as you read!*
Packing Cubes
I never travel anywhere without my packing cubes! They save space in my suitcase and make un-packing and staying organized in the stateroom so much easier. They come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors to suit every style!
Hanging Toiletries Organizer
Even though Disney Cruise Line bathrooms are among the largest in the industry, counter space is still at a premium. This handy organizer helps keeps the bathroom counters clear. I hang ours on one of the towel bars and it keeps everything neatly organized and out of the way.
Pop-Up Hamper
I don't like dirty clothes piling up on the stateroom or hotel floor, so I always bring a pop-up hamper when we travel. My favorite type has a carrying strap to make it easy to carry clothes to and from the laundry room. These hampers hold a lot of dirty clothes yet fold up small enough to fit in your suitcase.
Magnetic Hooks
These are great for hanging items on your stateroom's magnetic walls or door. We use ours to hang our lanyards from so we don't lose our Key to the World cards. These are also great for hanging other lightweight items such as swim suit cover-ups, etc.
Beach Bag
My Simply Southern beach bag is the best beach bag I've ever owned! The holes in it make it so easy to spray clean when sand inevitably makes its way inside. This is a must if your itinerary includes a stop at Disney's Castaway Cay or any other locations where you'll be soaking up some sun at the beach!
Reusable Cups
Disney Cruise Line includes sodas, juices, tea, and coffee in your cruise fare. However, the disposable cups available on board are on the smaller side. Particularly if I'm making my way to the pool or the beach, I like to have my refillable cup with me so I can enjoy more of my favorite beverages conveniently.
Towel Clips
These are great for securing towels to your beach or pool chairs, but they can also be used to hang wet swim suits up to dry in the shower, make sure bathing suit cover-ups don't fall into the sand, and more!
Poo-Pourri
This is the least glamorous item on the list but it's one I won't cruise without. There isn't great ventilation in the stateroom bathrooms and staterooms are smaller than the average hotel room. So, if someone in the party has to go #2, you can end up with a stinky situation on your hands. Enter: Poo-Pourri. Spray a couple of squirts of this into the toilet before you go and it contains odors and leaves behind a fresh, refreshing scent. Your travel companions will thank you if you invest in a bottle of this!
I hope you enjoyed learning about some of my favorite items to pack on a Disney Cruise! This is far from an exhaustive list of what to pack, so for a full list of suggested items (and a list of prohibited items) ask your travel advisor or do some digging on the Disney Cruise Line website. I provide each client with a packing list in my detailed travel packet outlining all the information they need for their upcoming voyage.
